A Sympathetic Supervisor Helps A Worker Address His Excessive And Irresponsible Drinking After A Broken Relationship

Barry got expelled from high school when he was sixteen years old and eventually found employment at a local landfill. For the past nine years he has gained a reputation as a hard-working person who rarely takes off from work because of sickness.

Barry's supervisor heard about all of this from Barry's co-workers and from Human Resources. So one Thursday afternoon he called Barry into his office. He told Barry that he had recently noticed a definite change in his work performance, attendance, behavior, and in his sick time.

This gave Barry some emotional relief for the first time in more than a few months and he frankly felt some hope that he would get his life back on track.
