Several Young Guys Who Work In Construction Manifest Abusive Drinking And Require Alcohol Rehabilitation
I work with numerous young men who work in construction who display excessive and heavy drinking. After working very hard for eight hours, it seems "logical" to go to the local drinking establishment to have a few brews with one's buddies. Frequently, it may be pointed out, it appears that the well-intentioned few beers turns into a predicament in which a lot of beers are consumed, much money is spent, and several hours are spent at the local pub instead of spending time with their family, wife or girlfriend, or with their friends.
How hard can it be for my hard working pals to realize that excessive and hazardous drinking usually leads to marital, relationship, and friendship difficulties? Why are these alcoholism and alcohol abuse signs so hard for my hard working friends to see?
Does it really astound anybody to realize that these hard working guys eventually complain about alcohol-related health problems such as hangovers, alcohol poisoning, a loss of energy, and sleep disturbances? Is it actually flabbergasting that many of my hard working friends are beginning to have a variety of mental health problems such as depression? Why can't these construction workers "see" these alcohol abuse and alcoholism signs?
Concerning the problem drinking manifested by my hard working friends, the point to emphasize is that honesty is needed. Indeed, these construction workers, not that much different than others who involve themselves excessive and hazardous drinking, need to look at themselves in the mirror and make an honest assessment of what heavy and irresponsible drinking is doing to their jobs, to their finances, to their health, to their mental health, and to their relationships. In a word, these construction workers need to understand the signs of alcoholism and alcohol abuse manifested by their excessive and hazardous drinking.
These construction workers need to get motivated and inspired about wanting to make a beneficial change in their lives. Stated more forcefully, my hard working friends need to get motivated to go to their family doctor or to the local drug and alcohol counseling center and discover whether or not they are essentially abusing alcohol or if they are alcohol dependent. Based on the information that is discovered, these hard working men then need to get the alcohol detox treatment and the alcohol rehabilitation they require.
The great news is that there's a wide variety of rehabilitation facilities, rehab programs, drug and alcohol treatment clinics, treatment centers, and hospitals where my hard working pals can get top-shelf treatment for their drinking behavior. And with some effort, it is even possible to find drug and alcohol treatment clinics, rehab programs, rehabilitation facilities, treatment centers, and hospitals that are cost effective.
There were obviously times in the past when first-class rehab for alcohol addiction or alcohol abuse was more expensive and far less available that it is now. Due to the vast increase of alcoholism and alcohol abuse in the past fifteen or twenty years, then again, an alcoholic or an alcohol abuser usually has few, if any, feasible reasons for failing to face his or her drinking behavior.
Indeed, to start the change process all it routinely takes is a single phone call to one's doctor or to someone at the local drug and alcohol counseling center. From that point forward, lasting alcohol recovery requires commitment, follow through, and a genuine desire to change one's toxic style of life.
